Brooklyn artist Sarah Prud’homme encountered a flattened bird on a dirt road a few years ago, and ever since has been documenting–and paying homage to–dead animals on the side of the road.
Porcupines, turtles, frogs, raccoons: in Prud’homme’s work, these become a lens through which the difficulty of death can be explored, along with the strange beauty of it.
The Brooklyn Cottage was thrilled to present Roadkill, a a collection of her in-progress work.
