A Prospect Heights collective for creative experiments,
renewal, stillness and celebration. Welcome home.
Be. Play. Make. Offer. Join us.
You are cloud, sea, forgetting;
you are also what you lost in a moment—
we are all those who have left.
The reflection of our face in the mirror
changes each instant
and every day has its own labyrinth.
The cloud vanishing in the sunset is our image;
endlessly, a rose becomes another rose.
–Jorge Luis Borges
Whether it’s something we asked for or not, the experience of divorce often represents a kind of initiation: a marked departure from a map that once felt clearly-marked into a forest that can be wild and unruly and breathtaking.
How we choose to enter the forest, and be in it, says a lot about the shape we’ll find ourselves in when we make our way out of it.
In this Sunday afternoon workshop available to any newly separated or divorcing woman, we’ll meet each other just where we are. We’ll lay down in the forest together and–with the help of writing experiments, contemplation, music and poetry–explore ideas of grief and anger, freedom and gratitude, shame and forgiveness. And we’ll look up at the sky and listen for what’s longing to be born in each of us next.
Led by Jenny Douglas. The cost of the workshop includes a journal, a special selection of poems, tea, snacks, and a gift.
Date: Sunday, September 29th
Time: 1:30-4:30 p.m.
