Poetry on the Go with Amy Tingle and Maya Stein

Give Amy Tingle and Maya Stein a single word to get them started. Then, as they sit side-by-side behind their vintage typewriters in the Brooklyn Cottage living room, they’ll each craft a one-of-a-kind poem just for you. What could be more fun for a Thursday night? Drop by the Brooklyn Cottage anytime between 6 and 8 p.m. We’ll throw in a glass of a wine while you wait your turn. Then float out into the evening and explore the meaning of your custom-made poetry over dinner (and we’ll give you a number of superb nearby restaurant suggestions).

Also known as the Tandem Poets, Amy and Maya are word artists who create on-the-spot poetry. They have appeared at The New York City Poetry Festival, the 6th Borough Market, both the Solid Sound Festival and the Fresh Grass Festival at Mass MoCA, and at the Amherst Poetry Festival. They’re delighted to be collaborating with The Brooklyn Cottage for the first time!
