A Prospect Heights collective for creative experiments,
renewal, stillness and celebration. Welcome home.
Be. Play. Make. Offer. Join us.
You are cloud, sea, forgetting;
you are also what you lost in a moment—
we are all those who have left.
The reflection of our face in the mirror
changes each instant
and every day has its own labyrinth.
The cloud vanishing in the sunset is our image;
endlessly, a rose becomes another rose.
–Jorge Luis Borges
Whether it’s something we asked for or not, the experience of divorce often represents a kind of initiation: a marked departure from a map that once felt clearly-marked into a forest that can be wild and unruly and breathtaking.
How we choose to enter the forest, and then to be in it, says a lot about the shape we’ll find ourselves in when we make our way out of it.
In this intimate workshop available to anyone separated or divorced (and for any amount of time), we’ll meet each other just where we are. We’ll lay down in the unruly woods together and–with the help of writing experiments, contemplation, poetry and bearing witness–explore ideas of grief and anger, freedom and gratitude, shame and forgiveness. We’ll prune the underbrush where it needs pruning, so that we might better discern new seedlings that lie waiting to sprout. And by evening’s end, we’ll have taken a journey to some interesting and illuminating place, in each others’ company.
Led by Jenny Douglas. Bring a journal and a pen, your curiosity and a willingness to be fully present for each other.

It’s been said that the greatest determinant in how well people do after divorce is what might be called “emotional flexibility”–and much of what Jenny offers in her workshop is directed at growing this capacity. The ability to entertain paradox, and allow the beauty of past experiences to co-exist with hurt and anger, is ultimately what fuels our ability to let go, forgive and clear out. It’s the doorway out of our darkness. Emotional yoga, perhaps? Thank you, Jenny. –Elise Pettus, founder, UNtied
My workshop with Jenny Douglas uplifted my soul and validated the angst I’ve through. It helped me to embrace the whole-hearted, authentic journey I am now on.” –Nancy Murray
Jenny’s workshop marked a very important day for me. I have no words to describe the intensity of the peace and hope I felt when I left her home. It will take me a while to let everything sink in. She has a special gift for doing this. –Violette M.
